Information on funding for all the strands of the Comenius programme

All Comenius grants are paid in euros.

  • Most UK bank accounts will accept payments in euros but you should check with your bank that your account can do so.
  • If you have to return unspent grant money to the British Council, this must also be paid in euros. The British Council cannot accept repayment of any part of your grant in sterling.
  • The cost of bank charges for any transfer, or any variances due to exchange rate differences, must be borne by you.
  • So it is a very good idea to set up a euro bank account for your Comenius grant.
