One of the most effective ways to find partners is to attend a Comenius Contact Seminar. They take place every year from September to January in locations throughout Europe. Teachers from Nursery level to Further Education are eligible to apply for grants to cover both their travel and fees.
There are a variety of activities involved in a seminar and each event usually lasts between three and five days. Contact Seminars often begin with a European fair: a chance to sample specialities from around Europe while getting to know other participants. Partner-finding activities follow and there are many opportunities to both develop ideas and plan projects. Seminars allow teachers to get a head start on their projects while gaining a unique insight into both the host country and other participants’ schools and cultures. Beyond the project-related work, seminars include cultural activities, ensuring an even more memorable experience.
The British Council has finished recruiting for the seminars listed below. Next year's contact seminars will be advertised in autumn 2010
