Big topics such as citizenship, climate change and sustainable development don’t make as much sense studied just from a local or national perspective. Working with partner schools across Europe helps pupils develop a deeper understanding of these themes.
School partnerships provide a practical and lively context for learning, as children enjoy finding out about life in other countries by communicating directly with their peers. Partnership work also improves pupils’ ICT, language and social abilities. By the end of a project, 96 per cent of teachers report that their pupils’ skills have improved.
Comenius motivates all children, including those who are diificult to engage or less academic. Cross-curricular project work can involve children of different ages and from different classes, helping them to collaborate in new ways. Working directly with peers in partner schools provides a real audience for pupils' project work.
Comenius in-service training activities enable you to network with European colleagues, to gain a fresh perspective on your practice and bring new ideas back to the classroom. You return refreshed and revitalised.
