Benefits for Schools
'French language teaching has become consolidated in Key Stage 2. The teachers feel much more confident teaching lessons with the assistant there. The children have really enjoyed getting to know her and learning about her country. The whole profile of French has been raised throughout the school.'
Brookfield Primary School on their Comenius assistant, Julie Lerault from France

Benefits your whole school
Comenius can strengthen relationships between staff as well as between pupils and teachers. Comenius builds links with the wider community too. One out of two partnerships has led to more parental involvement in school and to improved collaboration with local authorities.

Helps you retain valued staff
Comenius activities make staff feel valued. The chance to spend time in another European country, studying, job shadowing or on a school partnership visit, means they also return to school refreshed, energised and more motivated. Teachers often bring fresh ideas back into the classroom too: 67 per cent of school leaders report that teaching staff have introduced improvements as a result of Comenius.

A unique feature of the programme is that training activities are open to all your staff. Classroom assistants, administration staff, caretakers and kitchen staff can take part too. Opportunities also cover all curriculum areas.
