Comenius is part of the Lifelong Learning Programme
The Lifelong Learning Programme (or LLP) brings the European Commission’s various educational and training initiatives together under a single umbrella. When the seven year programme cycle finishes in 2013, the Lifelong Learning Programme will have provided nearly €7 billion of funding for activities at school, at college, at university, in the workplace and in the community.
Each year the European Commission publishes a Call for Proposals for the Lifelong Learning Programme, containing the legal text and administrative details of the programme, including deadlines for applications and eligibility.

The LLP Guide is an invaluable reference tool that complements the annual Call for Proposals. The Guide provides practical information on the various stages of the application and selection process. The LLP Guide is available to download in three sections.

Both the Call for Proposals and the LLP Guide are reference tools for the whole of the Lifelong Learning Programme. It is a good idea to read the sections relating to the Comenius Programme, but it is not essential to read the documents in their entirety.
