Information on the funding levels set for assistants from the UK carrying out their assistantships in the 2009/10 school year

Assistants will receive a flat-rate, non-accountable, grant to help cover their preparation, travel and living costs while abroad. Please refer to the table below for details of the grant rates (in euros) relevant for each country that a Comenius Assistant may go to, and for the different lengths of time that an Assistantship might last.

In addition, you may also apply for a flat-rate grant of up to €500 to cover linguistic and other preparation for your Assistantship, which will be paid at the end of your Assistantship on receipt of necessary supporting documentation. This has been broken down for 2009 by the UK National Agency as follows:

  • €300 for linguistic preparation ie for attending a structured language course
    or
  • €150 for linguistic materials ie for the purchase of language materials for self-learning activity
    and
  • €200 for participation in an induction event hosted by the Comenius National Agency in the country of your destination (unless you are based in the same town or city where the induction event takes place).
