Through it we share new, innovative and contemporary music between people who work in the music industry in Latin America and the Caribbean and the UK by creating networks between independent producers and music artists.
We began the activities in 2008. The countries that are currently involved are UK, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico and Venezuela.
Young and up-coming music entrepreneurs across this region are already networking and building on their knowledge of the music scene in the UK, combining it with their interests and experience of music in Latin America. In partnership with the British Council, these "producers" work to identify the trends within UK music that resonate most strongly with their audiences and colleagues in the music industry.
Incubator provides the opportunity to discover the new sounds, the technologies and the business through an array of activities such as:
- live-shows
- professional exchanges
- learning and outreach
- workshops and academic events
- recordings
We want young people in Latin America to be more aware of the dynamism of the creative industries in the UK and for those in the UK to appreciate the latest sounds and developments from Latin America.
Warp Records tour: As part of a focus on ground-breaking UK indie labels, artists and label representatives from Warp records toured Brazil, Argentina and Chile performing in live shows and participating in seminars and workshops alongside Latin American music professionals.
