The CELTA YL extension course will take place every Monday from Monday 13 April to Monday 13 July 2009 from 1200 to 2000.

To be accepted on the course applicants must:

			have an awareness of language and a competence in English, both written and spoken, that enables them to follow the course
			have an initial TEFL qualification, such as CELTA or Trinity Cert.

Note: Cambridge ESOL will only award a certificate to holders of a Cambridge ESOL CELTA certificate.

The course is designed to enable CELTA holders to build on and transfer skills and knowledge from their CELTA courses to the area of teaching younger learners.

The course covers the following areas:

			language awareness
			the learner, the teacher and the teaching/learning context
			planning for effective teaching of younger learners in English
			classroom management and teaching skills for teaching English to young learners
			resources and materials for teaching English to young learners
			professional development for teachers of English to young learners

It includes input, lesson plannning, teaching practice and feedback, observations and written assignments. The course focuses on 8-10 and 11-13 year old learners.

The fee for CELTA YL extension is US$ 1,000.

Fees must be paid in full when registering for the course.
