What is TKT Essentials?

TKT Essentials is an internet -based teacher development course. If you are teaching English and want to practise new ideas and techniques in your regular classes, then TKT Essentials could be the right course for you.

When is the next course?

Next course will start with a minimum of eight participants. Please send us your application form.

What does the course involve?

We have divided the course into two parts: part 1: module 1; and part 2: modules 2 and 3. Each module lasts 10 weeks.

The approximately six hour-a-week course provides:

an introduction to teaching methods, language analysis, pronunciation and classroom techniques
input reading materials and interactive tasks on which you will receive feedback
language input and tasks that help you review meta-language tested in the TKT

What do I need to take part in the course?
your level of English must be at least B1 (Common European Framework)
a working e-mail address
good IT skills: using the internet, word-processing, use of Adobe Acrobat (which can be downloaded free from the internet)
access to the internet for at least two hours a week so that you can access the materials and take part in the online discussion of the ideas and techniques you will be reading about and trying out in class
time to study and apply your studies
a group of students for your classroom teaching practice
