Regional Administrative Assistant

The Americas Regiona Office in Colombia is looking for a full time Administrative Assistant. The purpose of this new role will be to assist the regional team members in the Americas with logistics and administrative support in regional events and to support regional Human Resources projects.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Regional Human Resources project support
  • Update staff databases and provide the necessary support for the regional launch of e-HR (a global database with information about people and positions in the British Council)
  • Keep UK appointed staff and regional HR filings and databases updated
  • To request quotations from different vendors for projects and events as requested by members of the regional team
  • To support the regional team with the logistical arrangements of different events. This includes hotel and venue bookings, meeting rooms booking, meals, refreshments, photocopying, etc.
  • Purchase Order raising and other procurement tasks required by members of the regional team
  • Ad hoc minute taking, document scanning, photocopying, stationary purchase and any other general administrative functions required by the regional staff in Colombia

Experience and qualifications

  • Two years of proven administrative and customer service experience, preferably in and English speaking environment
  • Ability to operate in English and Spanish (both written and spoken) at a high business level
  • Excellent communications and IT skills required

Type of contract: Open ended

Salary: $2,336,024
