Antonio is from Fortaleza, Ceará and became interested in environmental issues in 2001, when he entered military school in his home town. At school, he became a member of the science club, taking part in ecological walks and treks, and helped with the development of a water treatment plant for a park in Ceará. In 2006 Antonio became a member of WWF and has started to teach at a local school, with the aim of raising awareness in the community about the importance of protecting our environment. Antonio is actively engaged in giving presentations, particularly aimed at young students, of the public sector. He has also been networking with policymakers of his own state of Ceará and one of the state deputies is a great mentor, giving support in many activities geared towards raising awareness of the issue.
