Climate change is the biggest challenge currently facing mankind and its impact will affect us all, but inevitably some more than others. Our role in creating the problems is indisputable. Unless we limit the emissions of greenhouse gases within the next decade or so, we know that the economic and social impacts will escalate with catastrophic outcomes. We also know that answers exist – or can be developed, if we are ready to change our behaviours and invest in technology and other solutions. Success also requires us to reach agreement and then implement a set of suitably robust international actions to limit greenhouse gas emissions.
By using our extensive international networks to develop a range of perspectives we will help to increase the understanding of climate change issues, leading to consensus building about climate actions and solutions. Our Climate Change programme will help:
achieve understanding of the case for tackling climate change now |
mobilise public pressure for progress on international agreements |
establish relationships and networks which lead to action |
To achieve this we will be running large-scale projects like International Climate Champions and Challenge Europe.
