In order to further the dialogue between China and the UK on social innovation after the forum, British Council Chongqing will organize two groups to visit the UK at the end of Feb and early Mar 2007.

One delegation is made up of 10 people from Civil Affairs Bureau of Chongqing Municipal and District level and is led by the Deputy Director-General of Bureau of Civil Affairs Chongqing Municipality. They aim to find out the regulations, operations and experience the UK has in this field of Social Welfare, Community development, Social Public Service Management and Social Relief and to share the best practice and innovative ways of dealing with these issues. And after they are back to China they hope to use what they learn in the UK as a reference to improve and drive the system construction in Chongqing.

The other delegation is made up of 4 people from Center for the Economy of the Upper Reaches of the Yangtze River, Chongqing Technology and Business University (CTBU). They aim to inspect the reform of economic and social development, environmental protection and urban-rural coordinated development in the UK. They hope to help establish a social security system for the emigrants from the Three Gorges reservoir area and urban low earners after the visit.
