Supporting Chinese scholars to write a new Human Rights textbook

‘Human Rights Core Textbook’ is a three-year sustainable project running from 2001 to 2004. We provide funding and support to Chinese scholars to research and write an International Human Rights Law textbook. This includes helping authors to travel to UK universities to undertake writing research. We also provide funding to purchase Human Rights books for a new Human Rights Resource Centre and help UK experts make subject-specific consultancy visits to China.

This project will result in a published textbook and therefore address the needs of Chinese law students who currently have no textbook for International Human Rights.

The chief editor of the textbook is the President of the China University of Political Science and Law. The five authors are legal professors from China University of Political Science and Law, Foreign Affairs College and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law.

The textbook will be used by Chinese University Law Schools for International Human Rights Law courses and by research teachers.
