Jiangsu Community Correction and Post-imprisonment Protection Seminar
UK legal experts visit Jiangsu and share their expertise

2 - 6 September 2002, Nanjing

In Shanghai we are working with Jiangsu Judiciary Department to bring UK experience and expertise to the development of a national pilot project in Community Correction and Post-imprisonment protection. In September 2002, we held a seminar on Community Correction and Post-imprisonment Protection. Four UK experts in this field were invited to share their UK experience with about 30 Chinese participants including officials from Jiangsu Judiciary Department, legal researchers, community workers, police officers and prison officials.

The UK delegates also visitedrelevant Nanjing institutions and communities and made some recommendations on community correction and post-imprisonment to the Jiangsu Judiciary Department.

This visit was the start of a long-term joint project between British Council Shanghai and Nanjing Judiciary Department.
