International Student Summit
International Student Summit
30 June – 2 July 2009

In partnership with the Natural History Museum, we are holding an International Student Summit from the 29 June – 2 July. The theme is Darwin and Evolutionary Science and 60 students from 29 countries will  participate in the summit in London.

We are delighted to announce that the following three students have been selected to represent China at the summit:

Chen Siyu
School:Guangdong Experimental High School

Lin Yuting
School:Fuzhou No.1 Middle School

Liu Siyan
School:The Experimental High School Attached to Beijing Normal University

Students will take part in welcome activities on the 29 June followed by a 3 day summit programme of speakers and discussions.

Session topics will include:

  • Evolutionary science now - what do we know about genetics?
  • Fossil evidence for evolution
  • Molecular evidence for evolution - the discovery of DNA
  • Human evolution
  • Evolutionary psychology
  • Biodiversity
  • Eco friendly farming/rain forest carbon trading projects

The selected participants will be encouraged to take part in the Darwin Now programme in China during 2009 and to initiate their own Darwin activities in their school or education institution.
