Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)

Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) represents financial managers and accountants who work in industry, commerce, not-for-profit and public sector organisations. CIMA’s key activities are related to Business Strategy, Information Strategy and Finance Strategy. Please note that CIMA members are not trained in audit.

CIMA's focus is to qualify students, support members and employers, and protect the public interest. CIMA began life in 1919 as the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants. Since then CIMA has grown to become one of the largest international accountancy bodies, representing 158,000 students and members in 161 countries.

CIMA's focus on management functions makes it unique, and CIMA is internationally recognised as offering the financial qualification for business.

CBA Test Centre

The first CBA (Computer Based Assessment) test centre in Beijing is now open at the British Council. Please download the application form to register for your test on your desired test date. For more information, please check CIMA website for syllabus guidance.

Entry Point

No matter what your educational background, CIMA's flexible entry policy enables anyone with a real desire to succeed in business to realise their potential. The syllabus is progressive and your skills will develop as you advance. The later stages are similar in content to undergraduate and postgraduate studies and you will need to have reached a good standard in mathematics and the English language before commencing your studies.

Relevant higher educational awards, such as degrees and professional qualifications in accounting or business subjects could enable you to enter at an advanced stage.

Qualifications

CIMA is quite unlike other accounting or financial qualifications. Its scope extends far beyond pure accountancy and even most management training courses. It is a complete education for business in the twenty-first century. And it is recognised and valued the world over.

By completing the CIMA Professional Chartered Management Accounting qualification you will show to employers that your skills set is far greater than number crunching alone. You will have developed key decision making, management, strategic and analytical skills.
