Following nationwide 2002-2003 Teacher Training Summer Roadshow, we began a new series of intensive training programmes for primary and secondary school English teachers from the summer of 2004 to improve their English language skills and teaching method.
In July 2004, one hundred and two Beijing rural areas key primary school English teachers participated in a four-week training in Beijing. They made rapid progress in English language ability, teaching techniques and academic research through various teaching activities under the guidance of five UK specialists.
In January 2005, twenty teachers that were selected from the above training started further training at Norwich Insitute for Language Education, UK. As a trainers training, this training is more target-oriented and practical.
In February 2005, we will arrange a two-week training for nearly one hundred Beijing primary school English language teachers.
In July 2005, more training will be given to hundreds of English teachers from primary and secondary schools in Beijing, Liaoning and Hubei.
With thorough pre-course needs analysis, careful selection of training providers and rich experiences of training management, we have been making every effort to ensure the quality of training. To our joy, the trainings not only maintain high quality but also lead to a mature and continuously growing training system. We take it as a privilege to make contribution to the development of English language teaching in North China primary and secondary schools.
