Our Vocational Education Projects in China

We work with Chinese partners at the national, provincial, municipal and institutional levels to share experience and best practice in areas of common interest in vocational education and training.

 China-UK Strategic Dialogue on Vocational Education Cooperation
Cooperated with China Education Association for International Exchange, the Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy organized the China-UK Strategic Dialogue on Vocational Education Cooperation in March 2008. The aim of this workshop was to explore opportunities for cooperation in the field of vocational education between vocational colleges from the two countries.

Liaoning Province
The Sino-UK Liaoning Vocational Education and Training Project launched after the signing of a collaborative agreement with Liaoning Promotion Committee on International Education Cooperation in May 2004. After that training workshops and study tours have been organised for officials, principals and teachers from government authorities and vocational institutions in Liaoning. Liaoning vocational institutions are encouraged to establish links with UK institutions.
Hubei Province

We have been working with Hubei Provincial Department of Education on th Sino-UK Hubei Vocational Education and Training since late 2001. After that several training workshops and study tours were organised for officials, principals and teachers from government authorities and vocational institutions in Hubei. Several vocational institutions have established links with UK institutions.
Ministry of Labour and Social Security

We have worked with the Ministry of Labour and Social Security on projects introducing National Vocational Qualifications(NVQs) and key skills for employment to Chinese organisations and institutions throughout China.
Chongqing Municipality

We work with the Chongqing Education Commission on vocational curriculum design in vocational schools in three main areas: tourism, electronics and IT. Vocational curriculum design aims to share UK experience and best practice to contribute to the reform of the vocational educational curriculum and to meet the needs of industry and market demand.

Another ongoing project is the Chongqing Construction Site Managers Training Project. This project will help establish international standards for construction site managers in Chongqing, and upgrade the level of construction site management by introducing UK standards to Chongqing.
Guangdong Province
We are co-operating with the Guangdong Department of Education in a Vocational Education Reform Project. Since 2000, the project has developed with a focus on teaching methodology reform and introducing UK qualifications to Guangdong.
