South Hunsley & Yuxin Middle School

Jiaxing Yuxin Middle School is a rural school located near Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. After attending a School Links Seminar in Hangzhou, teachers took action to registered on the Windows on the World website, where they found a suitable partner: South Hunsley School in East Yorkshire.

South Hunsley School headteacher, Mr. Keith Chisholm, then visited China on a British Council Headteacher Study Visit programme. During Keith's stay in Yuxin School, both sides agreed on a school linking project. South Hunsley look forward to hosting a reciprocal visit from Yuxin School.

Dixie Grammar & Baxian Middle School

Students from Dixie Grammar School visited Baxian Middle School in early 2001. They carried out a water research project on the Yangtze River near Yudong (where Baxian Middle School is located) together with Baxian School students. In May 2001, students wrote a joint report on the quality of Yangtze River water.

From July 2001 to August 2001, a delegation consisting of sixteen students and three teachers from Baxian Middle School spent one month at Dixie Grammar School, which provided Baxian Middle School teachers and students with free accommodation. The travel costs for the visit was paid for by Baxian School.

Ashcombe School & Changzheng Middle School
Changzheng Middle School, Shanghai and Ashcombe School, Surrey have been partners for one year. In March 2001 they furthered the link using video conferencing equipment to hold a quiz in English and Chinese. Chinese students also communicated through the Internet to control the movements of a robot thousands of miles away in Ashcombe School. In April, senior teachers from Ahshcombe school visited Changzheng Middle School in China and agreed a wide ranging framework of future activity together. Leaders from Changzheng Middle School then made a reciprocal visit to Ashcombe in November for the first time.
Greycoat Hospital School & No.3 Girls School
Partner schools No.3 Girls School, Shanghai and the Greycoat Hospital School, London are both secondary (middle) girls schools. The head of Greycoat visited Shanghai in October 2001 to agree a design and technology project where students would build kites together before going to Wei Fang Kite Festival in April 2002. Their partnership is based on subject areas that will change every year.
