The BOND scheme was launched in 1998 by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). It is administered in China by the British Council (Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy and British Consulates-General) on behalf of the DTI. The overall aim of the Bond Scheme is to provide British Companies with low-cost introductions to potential business partners in China in key developing international markets. High quality Chinese professionals will be assigned to British companies in the UK for up to twelve months.
- Candidates must be aged between 25-35
- Candidates must be mid-career staff (with a minimum of three years' work experience) who have managerial, policy-influencing or administrative responsibility.
- Candidates should have a good standard of English (minimum IELTS of 6.0 or its equivalent)
- Candidates must possess a recognised degree in a relevant discipline to their industry.
- Candidates must have an understanding of the changes needed to improve their organization, a good business and education background that combines a firm knowledge of their own industry in China with a wider international perspective.
- Candidates working in a foreign enterprise cannot apply to the Scheme.
Selected trainees will receive a salary, liable to tax, which will be sufficient to cover the living costs for the duration of the job. We will cover the cost of the China-UK return tickets for the trainees.
