Application Process

Step 1: September 2009 – January 2010   

To get familiar with application procedure and start preparing IELTS test and conduct research for subject and university you intend to study

Step 2: By 11 January 2010  

Candidates submit following documents:

1.On-line Chevening application forms

2.Three copies of satisfactory and valid IELTS test report form

3.Three sets of reference forms(academic and professional) (one original copy and two copies for both academic and professional)

4.UK institutions' acknowledgement of application (offer or initial correspondence with UK institutions)

5.One all relevant academics qualification and transcript without English translation

Step 3: 8 - 31 March 2010

Interview period. Applicants should have their choice of the subject and institution they will study in the UK by then.

Step 4: End of April 2010

Interview results are announced. Successful candidates confirm unconditional offer

Step 5: May –June 2010

Successful candidates do medical check, submit passport and visa forms, attend pre-departure briefing and meet Chevening alumni and Chevening officers from the British Embassy/Consulate-General. They will join in China Alumni UK website and Global Chevening Alumni Website.

Step 6: July – August 2010

To confirm accommodation and issue air tickets and visas.

Step 7: September – October 2010  

To depart for the UK
