LearnEnglish Radio Contents

Working with AM774, we would like to introduce to you a brand new radio programme called “Learn English”. Please tune in to AM774 between 3pm and 4pm every Saturday and Sunday, or listen online. The one-hour programme includes three components, i.e. Obla Air, Elementary Podcast and Big City Small World.

Obla Air
Obla Air is a small independent ‘budget’ airline, which operates with only one plane. This radio programme is a lively and engaging drama-based format highlighting functional language. The main focus is English for social purposes set in the context of a workplace environment. Each series consists of twenty 30-minute programmes and is aimed at 16-35 year-olds.

Elementary Podcast
This podcast is aimed at 17-40 year-olds and focuses on hot cultural topics from the UK and other western countries. It also provides learning summaries to support self-learning. Each episode consists of a 25 to 30 minute programme.

Big City Small Word
Big City Small World is a soap-opera style series set in London with a group of young people from around the world who share their lives over a cup of coffee, which turns it into one of the most enjoyable ways to learn everyday English. Each series consists of twelve 5-minute programmes. We have now turned this soap-opera into a print version with audio files. Each vivid character of the series is quite appealing, especially to the target audience ages 16–25.
