INTERNATIONALISING HIGHER EDUCATION

A convergence of higher education systems across the world has resulted in increasing globalisation, and consequently an understanding of the implications of this phenomenon is essential for policy makers, higher education leaders, researchers and academics. The British Council aims to provide authoritative, independent analysis and advice on international higher education trends and opportunities by leveraging our global presence for market insights and using our extended network to track developments, monitor compelling issues and facilitate partnerships between other countries and the UK.

Internationalising Higher Education consists of the following four strands:

Global Policy Dialogues
We bring together decision makers, policy makers, leaders and practitioners from higher education in the UK and China to learn from one another about how best to do all these things.
 Knowledge Economy Partnership
It is about providing a platform and framework for the creation of sustainable, multilateral partnerships that link the Higher Education sector, government and business communities to drive forward global, regional and national knowledge economies.
Education Market Intelligence
Education Intelligence aims to provide accurate analysis of underlying trends pertinent to the internationalisation of education. Our suite of reports – available for purchase online -- focuses on student decision-making, international student mobility, country profiles and the internationalisation policies of specific countries.
 Students and Alumni
Our work aims at internationalising education and society work through increasing outward and inward student mobility and to support the development of a network of UK alumni to create opportunities for economic, culture and social exchanges between UK and China.
