Contributing Organisations

On the UK side, the project will be led by:

  • British Council China which operates as the Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy
  • UK universities – to be invited by British Council China (Please refer to Annex I. How to Apply)

On the Chinese side, the project will be led and hosted by:

  • Low Carbon Industries Association of Guangzhou
  • School of Innovation Design, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts
  • Guangzhou Valuda Group Co. Ltd.
  • Guangdong Industrial Design Association

To better promote this project and participating universities, a series of media activities will be arranged with the following media:

  • China Central Television or Guangdong Provincial Television
  • Yangcheng Evening News or Southern Metropolis Daily
  • Design or Arts & Design
  • Sohu.com

Objectives

Students: by working together with students from the other country in Chinese enterprises, students will develop their language skills, team working spirit and intercultural skills, and demonstrate their creativity and improve their employability.

Universities: we hope some institutional links will be set up as the result of the activities we organise.  By working with industry, their curriculum may be improved to be more practical.

Enterprises will find an environmental-friendly and energy-efficient way to deal with their industry left-overs.
