James Peto is Senior Curator of Public Programmes at The Wellcome Trust where he is responsible for the programme of temporary exhibitions and accompanying publications of the Wellcome Collection. Wellcome Collection exhibitions bring together objects and artifacts from the worlds of science, art and popular culture, addressing such themes as sleeping and dreaming, the heart, mental health and the relationship between war and medicine.
Previously James was Exhibitions Curator at the Whitechapel Art Gallery and Head of Exhibitions at the Design Museum, London. He has a particular interest in interdisciplinary projects and has run lecture series on design and architecture at the Design Museum and at the Royal College of Art. James and colleagues at Wellcome Collection have also taught aspects of the MA Curating Contemporary Design, run jointly by the Design Museum and Kingston University, London.
