Chen Wei

A post-graduate student at the School of Fine Arts, Xiamen University, Chen Wei has attended several international and domestic exhibitions and arts festivals. “The relationship between freakish weather and extreme inside solitude (psychological change) is what I have been concerned about recently. The series of works presented here are the outcome and extension of my uncertain thinking about this issue. The tiny details which occurred when we participated in the exchange in Wales, including the abnormal April snowfall in Aberystwyth, the remark ‘winter came back yesterday’ by the guide in the National Library of Wales, and the topic of ‘Climate Change’ in Artes Mundi3, all offered opportunities to explore the issue. The works presented here are the outcome of my exploration; however, what they put forward is more like a question which has been left to be solved by myself and the visitors because for the time being it has no answer.”
