The ambient/electro/pop band Kyte from Leicester (UK) are back for 2012 with their new album ‘Love To Be Lost’. Writers Tom and Nick from Kyte have spent 2 years writing the new record, putting a slightly more commercial twist on their usual sound. Unlike the home-made bedroom production of Kyte’s previous albums, the band have taken a different approach to the new record, and spent a month in Seattle recording with producer John Goodmanson (Death Cab For Cutie, Los Campesinos, Owl City) earlier on this year. The band recorded at the stunning sea-front studio ‘Robert Langs’.
The band have recently welcomed the addition of new bass player Kyle Brooks for the new record making the new line-up Nick Moon (vocals/keys/guitars), Tom Lowe (guitar/keys), Scott Hislop (drums)and Kyle Brooks (bass). The band have previously opened the main stage of Summer Sundae Festival in their home town Leicester, and will return this Summer to showcase their new album.
In recent years, Kyte’s music has featured across the globe on hit US TV series ‘The Sopranos’, and a Hyundai commerical in Korea. The band have been making waves in South Asia since their first release back in 2007 and have since performed at the 10th Anniversary Summer Sonic Festival in Japan alongside Mew and Metronomy. Kyte have recently signed to the label Hostess (Radiohead, Adele, M83), and to thank their fans in South Asia for all their support, Kyte have made the decision to release their new album ‘Love To Be Lost’ in advance of the rest of the world, on 27 June. The band headline Liquidrooms Tokyo on 9 May to announce the release, with the incredible Team Me supporting. Their debut single ‘Friend Of A Friend’ will be available as a free download, exclusively for all the fans attending the Tokyo gig.
