2008 Shanghai eArts Festival (UK Night)

Venue: Riverside of Zhang Jia Bang River, Pudong, Shanghai (opposite to Door2 of Shanghai Science and Technology Museum)

Programme:

19:00 – 20:00: 8gg – V.I.P room (China Premier)
Interactive installation by media artist group 8gg (China), commissioned by Folly(UK)

20:00 – 21:00: Take10/Soda – bTWEEN (China Premier)
Commissioned by bTWEEN (UK). Curator/media artist Yang Lei aka. Take 10 (China) and Soda (UK) are connecting people via text+visual dialogue in public space, on the biggest outdoor panorama screen in China.

21:00: AirplayUK (Shanghai premier)
The selection of the most creative and entertaining music videos produced in Britain over the past few months will finally hit Shanghai and be on screen . This edition also includes a director profile, in this case a music video director who has made a significant contribution to music video creativity in the UK over a considerable period. Rupert Jones has directed both acclaimed videos, and short films for more than a decade, and he tells us about his work.

Free tickets for Streaming Objects: Celebrating Performances of Shanghai eArts Festival 2008 will be distributed at UK Night at the riverside area. First come first serve!

Call for entry now~~~

For non Flickr user:

1. Select your photos related to “urbanized landscape”;
2. Put all photos into 1 zip or rar file;
3. Write key words for each picture in the email. E.g. Photo 1: street, happy; photo 2: friend, festival, birthday, game etc.
4. Write your name in the email;
5. Send email to: btween2cultures@gmail.com
6. Deadline: Oct. 18, 2008

For Flickr user:

1. Upload your photos related to “urbanized landscape” (eARTS08’s theme) to your flickr account;
2. Remember to tag each photo with UL, which is the entry code for the activity;
3. Make more tags to each photo to “describe” your photo;
4. Deadline: Oct. 19, 2008

How to Play:

From Oct. 19 to 22, people can visit outdoor panorama screen at Pudong, Shanghai to send text messages via mobile phone to the big screen to trigger the photo streaming, or people can visit url (under construction, to be announced soon) to participate.

  • Oct. 19: 7pm – 8pm
  • Oct. 20 – 22: 8pm – 9pm

Location: Outdoor square of Shanghai Science Museum, Pudong

Tips:
Want your photos to have higher chance to be displayed on the big screen? Try to maintain as much tags as possible! Each tag needs to be relevant to your photos!
