Abake is a group of four graphic designers who do a lot more than you might expect. They are self confessed ‘content’ junkies. 2. Assa Ashuach
Assa Ashuach was born in Israel in 1969. After getting his BA in product design at Betzalel Academy in Jerusalem, he opened a design studio mainly working in collaboration with architects: the VIP lounge for Bloomfield Tel Aviv football stadium was a major project. 4. Daniel Brown Danny Brown is a digital artist/designer, born in Liverpool in 1977. Computers and computer games were part of his childhood. His father was a pioneer of computer graphics and, through a family friend, he was given access to the equipment at the Learning Methods Unit at John Moores University. 9. Neal Rock and Newbetter
Neil Rock is an artist inspired by the shlock horror and special effects of 1980’s gore movies coupled with a the paintings of the abstract expressionists. Newbetter is a curatorial design agency that has worked on numerous research and exhibition projects including Shrinking Cities, Can Buildings Curate, Airspace and Hydan.Please click here to read more.
10. Sam Buxton
When Sam Buxton needed a new business card rather than make “a boring printed card”, he devised one which reflected his work as a product designer. By deploying a chemical milling process used in the electronics industry, he produced a fine flat stainless steel card which unfolded into a 3-D miniature of himself using a computer. 11. Shezad Dawood Shezad Dawood studied Critical Fine Art Practice at Central St Martins College of Art and Photography at the Royal College of Art. Since he received his degree in 2000 his works were shown at the Whitechapel Gallery, the Tate Modern and at the Richard Salmon Gallery. Please click here to read more.
12. Simon Heijdens Simon Heijdens was born in Breda, the Netherlands, in 1978. He studied film at Udk Berlin, and product design at Design Academy Eindhoven where his Moving Wallpaper was awarded best graduation project of 2002. 13. Sebastien Noel Founded in 2003 by Conny Freyer, Eva Rucki and Sebastien Noel, this multi-disciplinary art and design practice draws on its members’ multi-disciplinary backgrounds in product and communication design to focus on the cross-contamination of arts and design disciplines to develop projects both engaging and demanding to the user, where design and information never stray far from each other. 14. Wokmedia
Wokmedia is a design partnership between Michael Cross and Julie Mathias who met while studying Design Products at the Royal College of Art.
