Edinburgh Castle
Edinburgh Castle is visited annually by approximately one million people - if we except the Tower of London that is more people than visit any other ancient monument in the United Kingdom.Within the confines of the Castle, there is much to see.

Palace of Holyrood
Holyrood Palace or Holyroodhouse is the Queen's official residence in Edinburgh. It sits at the bottom of the Royal Mile, the mile long street that links it to the other royal establishment -- Edinburgh Castle.Founded as a monastery in 1128, Holyrood Palace has witnessed some of the most dramatic episodes in Scottish History.

Scott Monument and the Floral Clock
The soaring, Gothic monument to the memory of Sir Walter Scott (who died in 1832) was built in 1840-46 to a design by George Meikle Kemp, a self-taught architect. It was influenced by Melrose Abbey and nowadays looks more like a space rocket!
