Nights out in the City
Home - About the UK - Capital Cities - Belfast - Visiting Belfast - Here

Here it is. Whether you're looking for a world-class gig at the Odyssey Arena or Waterfront Hall or just fancy a great night out, head for one of the stylish bars Belfast has become famous for. Chill out in the eastern atmosphere of Bar Bacca ('Best Bar in all-Ireland' winner 2002) or enjoy a few drinks with relaxing live music at the glamorous Grill Room and Bar, part of the cool Ten Square hotel complex near the City Hall.

Around the corner you'll find the Apartment, one the coolest views in town with background music supplied by some of Belfast's best DJ's, while, nearby, the sumptuous mezzanine floor at Irene and Nan's has great sounds seven nights a week.Over the last few years, a phenomenal level of investment, hugely talented local and visiting DJ's and a natural flair for having fun have led to our club scene becoming one of the most enjoyable in Europe. Here are a few City centre favourites. Milk, in Tomb St, has everything from R&B, funk, soul, hip-hop and house to club classics. Beautiful bar, beautiful people, so dress to impress.

Thompson's, in Patterson Place, caters for the more underground house junkie. The stylish La Lea remains one of Belfast's most popular venues and for sheer fun, you can't eat Mezza(nine) at two levels of the hottest live music and top DJ's. Bambu Beach Club at the Odyssey Pavilion has taken Belfast by storm and Precious also at the Odyssey has resident DJ's playing everything from commercial chart to funk to R&B.

There's a reason why Belfast is topping city break popularity polls. In a word–nightlife. After dark, our famous sense of fun and friendliness really shines – nobody enjoys showing visitors a great time like Belfast people. We've nocturnal treats for every night owl – sleek, sophisticated bars where you can see and be seen while sipping an exotic cocktail – down- to- earth Irish pubs with traditional music and a creamy pint of Guinness – numerous live music venues spanning the spectrum from jazz to metal.

And later on, fabulous clubs featuring the hottest resident DJs and music to match – funk, reggae, hip hop, chart, soul. Or put on your party gear and mingle with the beautiful people at our too- fabulous gay nightspots. One evening can include all of the above, starting off at a cafe bar for a relaxed bite, then on to a pub crawl, before wrapping up a great night clubbing in our happening Cathedral Quarter.Belfast is a young city – it's obvious in the amazing choice of exciting venues and the non-stop energy that lasts well into the wee hours.
