Literature
The countries making up the United Kingdom can be proud of their literary accomplishments. England has Shakespeare and other renowned writers and poets just as Scotland has Robert Burns and other talented literary figures, including J.K Rowling of Harry Potter fame. Northern Ireland has outstanding poets such as Seamus Heaney. Wales has given the world Dylan Thomas and Bertrand Russell as well as the popular mystery writer Dick Francis.
England Literature
Performing Arts In its literature, England arguably has attained its most influential cultural expression. For more than a millennium, each stage in the development of the English language has produced its masterworks.
Scotland Literature
Literature has always been an important component of Scottish arts, and even today, Scotland still contributes much to world literature.

Despite its small geographical size, Northern Ireland prolifically produces internationally renowned writers and poets .
