CARDIFF IATEFL CONFERENCE
March 31 to 04 April 2009

IATEFL is the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language. Founded in the UK in 1967, it now has over 3,500 members in 100 different countries throughout the world, and 75 associates with 65,000 members.

The 2009 IATEFL Conference will be attended by more than 1500 delegates. The four-day programme will include over 400 workshops, posters, talks, panel discussions and symposiums by international presenters from over 60 countries. It will be held between 31 March and 04 April in Cardiff.

This is the UK's biggest EFL event, and is followed by teachers of English around the world- if you can't attend the Cardiff conference, follow the event online! Follow all the action as it happens on the Cardiff Online website. It will provide teacher audiences worldwide with an opportunity to share ideas with colleagues before, during and after the conference.

The Cardiff Online project is a British Council/IATEFL partnership established to provide online conference coverage of this year’s Cardiff IATEFL Conference.  It is an opportunity to share your ideas with teachers from all over the world. The website features live and on-demand video presentations sessions, video interviews, text reports and moderated discussion forums.

Building on the last two years' experience, we have again teamed up with IATEFL to create Cardiff Online – this year it is a Drupal website - http://iatefl.britishcouncil.org/2009. It will have, presentations, workshops and interviews, broadcast 'almost live' from the conference; discussion forums moderated by subject experts; blogs and vox pop interviews; photo galleries; and reports and accounts of conference sessions from roving reporters supported by IATEFL and the British Council.
