The Programme is an intensive 11-week course during which participants study British politics at the London School of Economics and undertake a placement in the UK Parliament, a government department, an NGO, lobbying group or media organisation.
The scholarship includes full programme fees (including accommodation, London transport, tuition, political and cultural visits etc) as well as travel and visa expenses, and a stipend to cover reasonable daily expenses.

Scholarships are available for students from Chile starting a postgraduate programme at LSE in 2009

£2 million is available annually for taught master’s students from the Graduate Support Scheme (GSS). This scheme is designed to help students who do not have the necessary funds to meet all their costs of study and awards range from £2,000 to £10,000.

LSE PhD Scholarships
20 full research scholarships each year for UK, EU and Overseas students undertaking research in any LSE discipline. Awards cover fees and living expenses of £13,000 each year for three years.

LSE Research Studentship Scheme
All MRes/MPhil/PhD students are eligible to apply for these awards. The level of assistance given is determined by each academic department and is most usually a contribution towards fees.

Abbey Grupo Santander Scholarships
10 scholarships are available worth £5000.

Aston University’s Languages and Social Sciences department offers 6 postgraduate scholarships to students from Africa and South America. This scholarship programme is supported by the Ferguson Foundation, which is dedicated to improving educational opportunities for students who would not otherwise be able to consider study in the UK. The scholarships are available for the following programmes:  MA in TESOL Studies, MA in Translation Studies, MA in TESOL and Translation Studies and MA in Applied Linguistics.

Successful applicants will receive a Scholarship of over £7,000 towards the cost of their MA course fees, leaving a balance of £1,000 for them to pay. The Scholarship money is paid directly to the University in the form of fees and not to the student. The Scholarship does not include accommodation, travel or living expenses.

Applicants who wish to be considered for the award scholarship need to apply for one of the MA programmes above and write a two page letter stating why they feel they deserve the scholarship, how they hope to benefit from the opportunity, and what contribution they hope to make in their home country following the completion of the MA degree. They must also submit an essay of 2000-3000 words along with their application on one of the 3 available topics.

St Mary’s is pleased to announce that we will be offering thirty overseas postgraduate scholarships of £4,000 each, in line with our mission.
Applications should follow the regular postgraduate application process and should be accompanied by a covering letter and relevant supporting documents which address the  following criteria:

           • Financial need supported with evidence
           • Clearly defined mission-related request and objective
           • Evidence of high academic achievement (2.1 or above in first degree)
           • Two academic references (as per the postgraduate application process)

The deadline for applications for the September 2011 intake is 15th July 2011.
