GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

This is not an exhaustive list, but it is a very good start. You may also wish to check our new online Scholarship Search which allows you to search for scholarships online. Please contact each of the scholarship bodies directly for applications, deadlines and any other information.

A complete list of awards for study and research, including reference books, is usually available from your university's awards office. Also, many UK universities offer their own specific scholarships to recruit international students, so do please make enquiries to the university you are applying to and see if they have any funding opportunities which might be available to you.

Be sure to apply early. You should be looking into scholarships at the same time as you are deciding on which universities to apply to. Some deadlines come very early, for example the Commonwealth Scholarship usually closes in October of the year prior to study. Most scholarships do not require that you have a letter of offer from your UK university for you to be considered.

Please note that although reference is made in some international handbooks to "British Council scholarships", these are not offered in Canada. Our current scholarship programme is the British Chevening Scholarship. These scholarships are for Masters level study in the UK. For full details, as well as an application, please see our Chevening Scholarships page.
