	Canadian Writers Festivals

Canada has a rich literary tradition and this is reflected in the number of writers festivals which are held annually across the country. These festivals highlight the diversity and excellence of both Canadian and international writers.

		Toronto International Festival of Authors
		This is the largest Writers Festival in the world, enjoying enormous prestige internationally among the writing and publishing communities.

		Vancouver International Writers & Readers Festival
		This Festival began in a modest way in 1987 and has now grown into a world class and much anticipated literary event in Vancouver.

		Victoria Literary Arts Festival
		The first annual Literary Arts Festival was held in Victoria in 1994 as part of the XV Commonwealth Games cultural celebration. It has become a lively and much anticipated event ever since.

		Wordfest; Banff-Calgary International Writers Festival
		Now the third largest literary Festival of its kind in Canada, WordFest takes place at numerous venues over a five day period in the autumn in Calgary and Banff.

		Ottawa International Writers Festival
		This relatively new Festival celebrates the finest new and established writing from across Canada and around the world.

		The Banff Mountain Book Festival
		The only Festival which celebrates the world’s best mountain and adventure travel books.

		Winnipeg International Writers Festival
		A mix of readings, lectures, workshops, music and much more.

		Scream in High Park (Toronto)
		What began as a single evening of poetry and prose is now a full-grown Literary Festival held on an outdoor stage in Toronto's High Park.

Saskatchewan Festival of Words

The annual July Festival has programmes for children, youth and adults including dramatic performances, singer-songwriters, readings, workshops, competitions, and other innovative activities.

		Blue Metropolis International Literary Festival
		This is Quebec's major annual Writers festival and includes writers, translators and hosts from five continents in hundreds of events. Among them are numerous marquee and special events and features.
