About the club

The aim of British Council Reading Club is to promote the habit of reading, to help maintain reading skills and to facilitate non-competitive book discussions.

How often do we meet?

Twice a month.

Will it be boring?

We are going to read for pleasure and discussion will often lively but never boring. The reading club will be run together by members of staff from the library and the club members so you can decide on how we conduct the future discussions.

Nelson’s Dream by J.M. Newsome

Synopsis
Nelson Mbizi returns to his home in southern Africa after studying in Britain. When he tries to help a family of orphans he meets Viki, a South African TV presenter. The story of Nelson and Viki’s relationship is told against a background of HIV/AIDS and government corruption on the one hand, and great good humour and wonderful music on the other.

Synopsis
The Jackal. A tall, blond Englishman with  opaque, gray eyes. A killer at the top of his  profession. A man unknown to any secret service in the  world. An assassin with a contract to kill the  world's most heavily guarded man. One  man with a rifle who can change the course of  history. One man whose mission is so secretive not  even his employers know his name. And as the  minutes count down to the final act of execution, it  seems that there is no power on earth that can stop the Jackal.
