WHAT OTHER BENEFITS ARE INCLUDED WHEN WE JOIN THE COURSES AT THE TEACHING CENTRE?

Free Library membership with Self-Access Centre and Internet, and extra conversation classes.

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM CLASS SIZE?

We receive 16 students per class for small classroom and 18 students for big classroom.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE LIMIT TO JOIN THE TEACHING CENTRE COURSE?

The age limit for our young learner course is 7 from October 2011 and for adult learner course, it is 18. There is no upper age limit.

DO I NEED TO BUY THE TEXT BOOK AND HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST?

Yes, you need to buy a course book and a work book for your respective level. The book fees is varied between 18 USD and 29 USD based on the level.

WHAT’S IN THE LIBRARY?

All kinds of things to help you with your English:  Books, magazines, newspapers, audio and video cassettes, DVDs, extra grammar and vocabulary practice books, novels, graded readers.  But don’t worry, there’s a teacher there at certain times to help you get exactly what you need. And you can join free of charge.

WHAT ARE THE CONVERSATION CLUBS?

These provide the opportunity to meet other students and teachers, and to practise English through games, and informal conversation.   There are only held if the timetable permits.

IS THERE A TEST AT THE END OF THE COURSES?

Some courses have short test near the end of the course. More importantly we access your progress throughout the course and give you a feedback on your strengths and weaknesses.

HOW WILL MY PROGRESS BE EVALUATED?

By a combination of end of term tests and continuous assessment by the teacher. During the term and at the end you will have a one-to-one chat with the teacher to discuss your progress and identify difficulties.

WILL I GET THE CERTIFICATE AT THE END OF THE COURSES?

You will receive a certificate on completion of a level.   

HOW MANY STUDENTS IN A CLASS NORMALLY PASS?

Most students pass, but perhaps one or two will have to repeat the level.

HOW MUCH HOMEWORK IS GIVEN?

Just a little but often, is the best way. However, we encourage you to practise a lot outside class, so we will guide to towards extra work in the library/Self Access Centre.

WHAT KIND OF ENGLISH COURSES ARE AVAILABLE A PART FROM GENERAL ENGLISH COURSES FOR ADULTS?

The Teaching Centre also opens the IELTS preparation course and Management Skills courses.

HOW MUCH IS THE COURSE FEE?

The course fees depend on the type of course. The full fees for the respective courses are shown on the course fees structure. The course fees are subjected to change.
