These courses are designed for professional people who want to develop key competencies in English. The workshop format allows you to look at and practise relevant skills and language – and relate what you learn to your own field.

The following workshops are held on consecutive Saturdays

Presentation skills (20 hours)

analyse your audience and write aims and objectives
structure a presentation and use appropriate language
use appropriate visual aids and PowerPoint effectively
deliver a presentation and deal with questions

Report writing (20 hours)

write clear and well structured documents
gain a better understanding of the report writing process
practise the techniques required in the process of writing a well-structured report
produce the outline of a report specific to your needs

Meetings (20 hours)

analyse different meeting situations and focus on preparation and organisation
develop presentation and questioning techniques
practice the language of meetings - opening, interrupting, summarising and much more
take part in role play to practice specific techniques
manage a meeting effectively

Business writing skills (20 hours)

be aware of the difference between letters, memos, faxes and e-mails, and their layouts
practise the functional language for professional correspondence
deal effectively with different forms of professional correspondence
practise writing and responding to messages
