The British Council has been holding ELT conferences annually. We just held the 14th Annual ELT Conference for 2013 on 24 and 25 August.
It is the largest event organised by the British Council in Myanmar, with the participation of 60 presenters and nearly 500 attendees. The main objective of this Conference is to support English language teaching and teachers in Myanmar.
Through the interaction and exposure to speakers and workshop facilitators of international stature, the conference enables them to learn and share practical English language teaching tips and techniques.
The participants are from various sectors including officials from the Ministry of Education, officials from the Comprehensive Education Sector Review, principals and teachers from state schools as well as from international schools, freelance teachers from NGOs, INGOs and Foundations and teachers from Monastic Education Centres.
From 2011, we have also held this successful conference in Mandalay, as well as Yangon, following the same format. The conference in Mandalay has been received with the same level of enthusiasm and participation from the various sectors.
