Distribution of Teaching and Learning Aids
Distribution of teaching/learning aids

The EES (English for Education Systems) team at the British Council designs English language teaching aids which are suitable to the Myanmar context and distributes them far and wide. In cooperation with the Pyinnya Tazaung Association (a more than 100 years old Association founded by leading academics in Myanmar), we have produced and distributed English language teaching wall charts as teaching aids to use in state schools.

With the coordination of Pyinnya Tazaung, we have distributed these, together with articles on how to use them effectively, to 43,000 schools in Myanmar. We have also designed large laminated wall charts to assist in teaching English at primary and secondary levels. Different sets of wall charts have reached many monastic education centres, community based organisations, states schools and Millennium Centres.

The contents of all the EES’ wall charts are based on State school curriculum, which helps the teachers and students greatly in teaching and learning English. In addition, we have also distributed colourful and durable flashcards which are extremely effective in teaching English at primary and secondary levels. Packets of these have been donated to monastic education centres, community based organisations, states schools and Millennium centres.

In the future, we aim to continue to design and distribute colourful, durable, practical and low cost resource materials to all areas in Myanmar. We also intend to produce and distribute teachers’ guides and reference books for English language teachers.
