supporting democracy

In October 2007 we launched ‘’Tomorrow’s Politicians Toolkit’’ together with the British Embassy. It is the result of the British Council’s UK-South East Europe Forum, a two-year regional initiative (2004-2006). The project aimed at developing the professional skills of young politicians in the area of election campaigns, lobbying, attracting supporters, working with the media. Apart from a theoretical framework, the toolkit incorporates the personal experiences of over 80 young politicians from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, Croatia and the UK, who have taken part in 3 seminars on the subject over the last year.

The Tooklit aims at supporting democratic political activists from all parties that will have to find their way in a Europe that is changing daily. It is the product of collaboration between The New Politics Network, a UK based think tank, and politically aware young people of South Eastern Europe. The toolkit is divided into four parts: Successful Politicians, Personal Development, Effective Campaigning, Working in an Organisation.
