ICT and School Leadership

Following the two projects - ICT in Education and ICT and Developing School Leadership supported by the Ministry of Education, the British Council has launched a new project –in partnership with the National Institute for Training School Managers (NIOD).

We have chosen the topic having in mind the Ministry of Education’s priorities for capacity building and staff development of Bulgarian schools, the success of the two projects and the expert knowledge and experience that the UK can contribute to the effective use of ICT for the management of Bulgarian schools.

This is a one-year project, of the British Council and in partnership with NIOD which will offer the Ministry of Education and school headmasters, through the National Institute for Training School Managers, models of good practice in school management, performance evaluation and opportunities for building professional contacts with the National Institute for School Leadership and Children Services in the UK.

The components of the project are:

Two days seminar on performance evaluation and best practices of school management from UK. Yasmin Bevan, DBE Hon DEd BSc (Econ) BA MA, who was named the National Headteacher of the Year will be the UK expert that will share her experience in leading on professional and personal staff development.
Establishing partnership with the National Institute for School Leadership and Children Services in the UK.
Development of online modules for performance evaluation and school management.
Briefing for presenting the results of the project to a broader audience – representatives of the Ministry of Education, Regional Inspectorates, school directors, etc.
