“OPENCities Faces” is a touring exhibition with photos visualising migration in cities. Over 100 images tell the story of starting a new life in a new city focussing on the hopes and fears of migrants’ lives. To accompany the research element of the OPENCities project, the British Council developed a photography exhibition around the theme of immigration into European cities. The exhibition shows images of migration taken by photographers from 8 European cities - Belfast, Bilbao, Cardiff, Dublin, Madrid, Sofia, Vienna and Duesseldorf. Eight photographers – rising stars in their own cities – have been recruited to examine the idea of ‘openness’ in their cities. The photographer of the Bulgarian entries is Victoria Knysh.
You can see the photos from Sofia in our Flickr gallery below and also the complete exhibition - at The Mall from 17 September to 20 October 2010.
