Our levels and end-of-course certificates are tied to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), devised by the Council of Europe. The CEFR is recognised as a measure of language competence by employers and institutions across Europe.
Our centre in Sofia offers a supportive and relaxed atmosphere in which to learn. All training rooms are fully equipped with whiteboard, overhead projector, CD player, TV and DVD. Teachers use many resources including a wide range of the most up-to-date course books and reference books, an extensive collection of ELT video material, and our own resource bank of visual aids and in-house materials, especially designed for Bulgarian language learners.

The English language exams taken at the British Council all focus on the learner's ability to communicate in English. These exams include the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and Cambridge exams.
As a student on our English language courses you have free membership of our Knowledge and Learning Centre, which allows you to borrow books, magazines, course books, CDs and DVDs to help you develop your English skills. In addition, you have free internet access and can use a wide selection of computer programmes for self study in English.
