In our visual arts programme of events, our main objective in Bulgaria is to develop and increase knowledge and appreciation of UK achievements in the fields of fine art, photography, video and design.

We work in partnership with galleries and museums in Bulgaria with whom we show solo or group and thematic exhibitions. Priority is given to the promotion of contemporary art from the UK.

We work in close collaboration with our colleagues from Visual Arts Department in London. In addition to the programme of exhibitions, the Visual Art department also supports independent initiatives by overseas galleries wishing to show work by artists resident in the UK: UK artists who have been invited to exhibit abroad can apply for financial assistance under our Grants to Artists Scheme.
