Creative Cities
a regional Creative Industries project

The Creative Industries project was one of the strands under the UK-SouthEastEurope Forum regional programme and aimed to raise the profile of creative industries and strengthen their role in economic and social regeneration across the two regions by creating dialogue between professionals from the creative sector and policy makers. This network explored successful practices and looked for solutions to strengthen this sector in the context of each participating country.

Creative leadership was at the heart of this strand. Our aim was to help sustain the development of the next generation of leaders within the creative sector in SE Europe and the UK. We contributed by providing each with access and understanding of the others. We believe there is value to connect SEE with UK with its reputation as a centre of creativity, creative thinking and entrepreneurship, and very importantly, a place that is pivotal to international networking and where ideas can be traded in.

Several exciting projects were developed under this strand and you can read about them by downloading their descriptions from the left-hand column of this page. We are still working on this update though, so for now, if you do have questions, please contact Dessislava Stoitcheva.

The UK-SouthEastEurope Forum was a two-year British Council regional programme run jointly by our offices in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo (UN Administration), Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro.

The UK-SouthEastEurope Forum aimed to build alliances between the next generation of leaders from the UK and the countries in South East Europe, and within South East Europe itself.

After the end of the regional programme information on its other two strands can be found on different British Council websites:
