Cambridge English exams
Develop your English skills whatever your level

If you want to develop your English skills, we can help you, whatever your level, and whatever your reason. Whether you want to improve your job prospects, gain entry to a UK university or make travelling easier, we have a Cambridge English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) exam to suit you.

Cambridge ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) exams are the world’s leading range of certificates for learners of English. Each year, they are taken by around 2 million people, in 130 countries and are recognised by thousands of educational organisations and employers throughout the world.

Cambridge ESOL is part of the world-famous University of Cambridge. Its English language exams are linked to the Common European Framework for Modern Languages, published by the Council of Europe. They are the only certificated exams referred to in the Framework document as specifically linked to it by a long-term research programme.

You can take general Cambridge English exams with us at one of four levels; each level will test your English skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Please note that for all of the examinations listed below we require the registration of a minimum of ten candidates in order for the session to take place.

What levels can I take?
Preliminary English Test (PET)
PET is a lower intermediate exam for learners of English. A pass at level 2 indicates that you can cope in largely predicatable social and work situations in a English-speaking environment.

First Certficate in English (FCE)
This test is designed for learners whose command of English is adequate for many practical everyday purposes, including business and study.

Certficate in Advanced English (CAE)
Success at this level indicates the ability to use English effectively and perform confidently in social and professional situations and in higher education.

Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
The highest level of the Cambridge ESOL exams. Successful candidates at this level are approaching a standard of English similar to that of an educated native speaker.

Business English Certificate (BEC)
