CHILD'S RIGHTS AND SPORTS

As part of our Child’s Rights and Sports project, a group of 15 people – young people, monitors and project coordinators – from Recife, Rio de Janeiro and Diadema will travel to the UK in June 2007 to follow activities, the objectives of which are to widen the horizons and the lifestyle quality of young people under social risk, addressing issues of leadership and child protection.

TRANSFORMING LIVES THROUGH SPORTS
The objective of this project is to improve the knowledge and debate over child’s rights, to contribute to the improvement of aspirations, enhance self-esteem, and to strengthen academic achievement through sports. It is worth quoting the UK Ministry of Sports’ words, Richard Caborn, during his visit to the Bola pra Frente Institute: “Sport is an agent for social transformation therefore we value this wonderful project.”
